Kay is a Professor of Reproductive Endocrine Pharmacology and Head of the School of Health Sciences and Vice Dean of the Faculty of Biology, Medicine & Health at Manchester University. Kay specialised in pharmacology whilst studying for her B.Pharm at the University of Bradford and went onto complete her PhD there with Dr Judith Senior. She is a registered pharmacist and Fellow of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society and Higher Education Academy. Her research focuses on systemic and local hormones in women’s health. These interests have been both above and below the waistline, her current projects arefocused upon endometriosis and developing novel local drug delivery devices. She is a founder of the North West Centre for Advanced Drug Delivery which was set up to enable such projects as well as to strengthen the teaching/research nexus to help support the next generation of pharmaceutical scientists.
